September 9, 2006: Dave Groves wins 'Buckeye 30' AMRA RWT @ MCS

Morgantown WV's Dave Groves continued his 2006 season domination at Ronnie
Moran's Muskingum County (OH) Speedway with his victory in the AMRA Road
Warrior Tour 'Buckeye 30'.
Front row starters Kevin Morehouse and Norman Aronhalt led the 24 car
starting field to the green, with Groves, a past 2 time Road Warrior
champion, starting the 30 lap main in 3rd.
Morehouse bolted to the lead, with Aronhalt, Groves, RWT point leader Mark
Dickson and Dave Defibaugh in tow.
The lead 5 started distancing themselves from the remainder of the field
before a pair of cautions for Jess Hartman slowed the pace.
Groves scooted past Aronhalt on the restart, with Defibaugh dispatching
Dickson soon afterwards.
Morehouse hung tough on the cushion with Groves challenging to the inside,
as the lead duo ran side by side for 5 laps before Groves was able to
wrestle the lead away for good on lap 12.
Aronhalt's well known "Phantom 309" dropped from contention with a thrown
driveshaft, moving Rob House into the top 5 near the halfway point, but the
local's hopes were pinned on Jeff Staggers.
The 10th starting Staggers had moved to 3rd when the races final caution
waved on lap 28, as defending RWT champion Louie Krushansky saw his title
defense hopes diminish when he coasted to a stop with rear end gear failure.
Defibugh had advanced to the leaders rear bumper for the final 2 lap
shoot-out, as the Elkins Speedway standout looked to break into the RWT win
column for the first time this season.
With a clear track ahead, Groves was not to be denied, as he parked Terry
Wright's 'Tri-Valley Equipment/GRS Chassis #T3' in the MCS victory lane for
his 3rd RWT win of the season.
Dave Defibaugh was once again solid, finishing 2 car lengths off Groves
bumper in his 'Chris Polino Contracting/ Lightning Chassis #77', as he
continues his ascent up the standings in the Road Warrior points battle.
Jeff Staggers earned the local fans applause with his third place finish in
the 'Holbrook Performance #19'. Kevin Morehouse and Rob House were 4th and
5th.
Rounding out the top 10 were Mark Dickson, Jesse Wisecarver, Doug Henry, Ed
Robinette and Larry Moran.
Carthage Auto Parts of Cincinnatti, Ohio awarded trophies to the top 3
finishers.
The Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier was Dave Defibaugh with a lap of 18.043.
Morehouse, Aronhalt, Groves and Dickson were the qualifying heat race
winners, with Mitch Basich getting the win in the B-main.

August 26, 2006: Greg Beem wins AMRA Road Warrior Tour 'K-C Rumble 30'

Xenia, Ohio's Greg Beem once again proved his prowess on the high banks of
Jim Nier's K-C Raceway, getting his 3rd AMRA Road Warrior Tour win of the
season in the "Bobby Oney Memorial- K-C Rumble 30".
The main event saw 2006 track point leader Aaron Higgins and Beem take the
24 car field to the green flag, then race side by side for over a lap before
the 16 year old phenom Higgins was able to wrestle the point away from Beem.
Higgins held Beem at bay for only 4 circuits before "the Xenia Tornado" blew
around the extreme high side to lead lap 5.
Dave Defibaugh then harassed Higgins for the 2nd spot, as Beem began to
stretch his advantage.
Some outstanding 3 wide battles developed, with the running order changing
every lap from the 4th - 15th positions.
Long time K-C Raceway fans followed the steady progress of veteran Bud
Frazier, as the 72 years young driver worked his way forward from his 13th
starting position.
With the caution flying only 4 times, the most serious being for Bob Crace
Jr's encounter with the turn 3 wall, the laps quickly slipped away.
With 22 laps recorded, Defibaugh found the opening he needed to overtake
Higgins, and 6th starting Ed Eschmann followed suit a lap later.
A pair of late race cautions on laps 27 & 28 set up the final charge to the
checkered, and set the stage for some wild action all through the top 10.
Eschmann slipped by Defibaugh for 2nd, but Beem seemed to have things well
in hand before jumping the cushion in turn 3.
Eschmann dove under Beem, as the pair were even coming to the white flag.
Beem's stranglehold on the cushion relegated Eschmann to a pass attempt on
the low side.
As the lead duo raced onto the backstretch, Beem once again flexed his
muscle, using the momentum off his high line run to carry his "MUHA
Construction/ Pierce Chassis" #33 to the checkered flag 2 car lengths ahead
of Eschmann's "Carthage Auto Parts/ Stone Ridge Stables/ Dart Chassis" #E1.
Defibaugh's "Chris Polino Contracting/ Hardee's Restaurants/ Lightning
Chassis" #77 finished just off Eschmann's spoiler in third, and tightened
the RWT season points battle, moving into 2nd place in the standings.
Frazier's fine run through the field ended with a 4th place finish, and
Higgins clinched the 2006 K-C Raceway modified points championship by
finishing 5th.
Louie Krushansky, Mark Dickson, Will Rowe, Doug Henry and Bob Mapes
completed the top 10.
Higgins was the 'Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier', and he along with Beem,
Defibaugh and Dickson were the winners of the qualifying heat races, as all
were awarded certificates from (Chris) Dickson Racing Shocks. Beem, Eschmann
& Defibaugh received trophies from Dave Norton's "Carthage Auto Parts" for
their efforts. Josh Scott was the winner of the B-main.

August 25, 2006: Doug Adkins wins Rocky Top Raceway AMRA Road Warrior event

Doug Adkins was the class of the field, as he was victorious in the first
ever appearance for the AMRA's Road Warrior Tour at Coal Grove, Ohio's Rocky
Top Raceway.
Adkins outgunned fellow front row starter Todd Robinson to gain the lead as
a field representing 4 states hit the backstretch for the first time, then
repeatedly turned back Robinson's bid to take the lead. The track's
billiard table smooth surface allowed for plenty of side by side action,
with a major battle going on for positions 4 through 10.
Third running Shawn Holliday lap 8 spin closed the field, with Adkins being
chased by Dave Defibaugh, Doug Henry and Mark Dickson on the restart.
Defending Road Warrior Tour champion Louie Krushansky dropped from
contention with a broken ring & pinion, with Dickson falling to the same
fate near the 1/2 way point of the race.
Hard racing between the lead duo resulted in contact that sent Robinson to
the rear of the field, and Defibaugh and Henry took up the guantlet to
challenge for the lead.
The final 10 laps were a race fans delight, as 7th starting Andy French and
15th starting Kenny Johnson charged to the front of the field.
Adkins seemed to have a comfortable lead when Johnson challenged on the
extreme high side of the 3/8 mile.
For the final 6 laps it was a contrast in driving styles, as Adkins clung to
the bottom of the turns, while Johnson blasted into the cushion.
Adkins was mistake free, and his lane choice proved to be a winning decision
as the West Portsmouth, OH driver parked his "239 Auto/ A-1 Glass/ Loose
Gruff Chassis" #7 in victory lane for his 2nd Road Warrior win of the
season. Johnson's "Racersmate/ K-Graphics/ Hassy Chassis" #HC1 got a hard
earned runnerup finish, while Andy French's "DirtWorks Chassis" #A32
garnered a fine third place finish in his first appearance with the Road
Warriors. Dave Defibaugh and Doug Henry rounded out the top 5.
6th - 10th were Todd Robinson, Rodney Keefer, Tim Roll, Greg Thompson and
David Fitzpatrick.
Adkins was the 'Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier' with a lap of 15.593 seconds,
and he along with Robinson and Holliday won the qualifying heats.
All received certificates from (Chris) Dickson Racing Shocks, and the A-main
podium position finishers received trophies from Carthage Auto Parts.

August 12, 2006: Doug Adkins wins Road Warrior Tour 'Open Wheel Shoot-out'

West Portsmouth, Ohio's Doug Adkins has no ruby slippers or a little dog
named Toto, but he agrees that "there's no place like home".
Adkins proved to all that he is "The Wizard" of the immaculate 3/8 mile
known as Portsmouth Raceway Park in winning his career first AMRA Road
Warrior Tour event.
The first ever appearance for the Road Warrior modifieds saw a field
representing 4 states roar to life, with Todd Robinson out-gunning Adkins to
the race lead by the end of lap 1.
Robinson, looking for his first PRP win of the season, started to stretch
his advantage as Adkins was busy fending off Doug Henry, Eddie Harmon &
Shawn Holliday.
5 car lengths behind that group Road Warrior title contenders Dave
Defibaugh, Kenny Johnson, Mark Dickson and Louie Krushansky swapped
positions in a tight battle.
With only 4 cautions to slow the action, the competitive field stayed
remarkably close.
Adkins started chipping away at Robinson's advantage, and on lap 17 his
inside move off turn 2 saw a change in the lead.
Meanwhile, after contact from Holliday on a wild lap 12 restart, Defibaugh
clawed his way back to 5th.
With no lapped traffic to contend with, Adkins quickly dispatched the
remaining laps with his "239 Auto/ A1 Glass/ LooseGruff Chassis" #7 flashing
under the checkered flag with a 7 car length advantage over Robinson's
"Tri-State Industrial Supply/ Fairchild Machine/ GRT Chassis" #39 and Doug
Henry's "M&M Motorsports/ B & W Pharmacy/ Pierce Chassis" #1a.
Shawn Holliday and Defibaugh were 4th and 5th, with Eddie Harmon, Mark
Dickson, Louie Krushansky, Kenny Johnson & Rick Hensley rounding out the top
10.
The top 3 finishers were awarded trophies courtesy of Carthage Auto Parts of
Cincinnatti, Ohio.
Todd Robinson was the "Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier", and picked up an
additional bonus from 'PBM Performance Products', as did Anthony Slusher,
who earned the events hard charger honors.
Robinson, Adkins, Henry and Harmon were heat race winners, earning
contingency rewards from 'Dickson Racing Shocks'. 'DRS' also awarded
contingencies to the events fast qualifier and feature winner.

August 11, 2006: Corey Conley wins Road Warrior Tour 'Jack Norris Memorial'

Corey Conley put his name in the Hilltop Speedway record book as the
Wellsburg, WV driver will be forever remembered as the winner of the
inaugeral 'Jack E. Norris Memorial'.
On a night dedicated to the memory of track promoter Jeff Norris's father,
who lost his life in a racing accident while Jeff and his siblings were
young children, the SRO crowd that included family, friends, crew members
and fans of the late Norris witnessed a thrilling finish to the 30 lap
finale.
Multiple early race cautions threatened to spoil what promised to be a
fantastic race at the front.
RWT point contenders Dave Defibaugh and Mark Dickson suffered serious
setbacks to their title hopes when both were caught up in early race
incidents and retired from the race.
When things finally got started in earnest, Conley led Kenny Johnson, Kyle
Brown, defending RWT champ Louie Krushansky and Jesse Wisecarver in a hotly
contested battle for the top 5 positions.
Hilltop Speedway hotshoe Jess Hartman had fans on their feet, as he charged
from a 22nd starting position using a crowd pleasing banzai rim ride to the
front.
The events final caution for a wild accident that found Matt Aber's mount
parked on top of Tim Roll's entry set up a final 6 lap run to the finish.
Conley had a mirror full of Johnson and Brown, with the lead trio constantly
switching lanes on the track in a search for traction. With 4 laps
remaining, it was a 3 wide battle for the lead as the field came to the
front stretch. The following lap, Johnson powered under Conley in turn 3,
only to see Conley use a perfectly executed cross over move to retake the
point. With the white flag in the air, Johnson gave it one last shot, but
kissed the wall in turn 2, allowing Conley breathing room. Brown followed
in Conley's tire tracks, but couldn't find the opening needed to make the
pass, as Conley's 'Off Road Performance/ Lucas Oil/ Gib Patt owned' #707
sped under flagman Ed Fredricks checkered flag for his 3rd RWT win of the
2006 season. Brown was just off his bumper, finishing 2nd in his 'Wyss
Appaloosa Show Horses/ One Call Digital Design/ Hassy Chassis' #41 with
Kenny Johnson's 'Racersmate/ K-Graphics/ Hassy Chassis' #HC1 a close third.
All 3 were awarded trophies from Carthage Auto Parts of Cincinnatti, Ohio,
with Conley receiving a 6 foot tall trophy from the Norris family.
Louie Krushansky gained ground in the RWT points battle with his 4th place
finish, and Hartman advanced 17 positions to garner a well deserved 5th.
6th through 10th were Jesse Wisecarver, Doug Henry, Will Rowe, Brandon
Morrow and Bruce Miller.
The 'Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier' was Louie Krushansky, and Johnson, Conley
and Brown were heat winners. All received certificates from Chris Dickson

August 5, 2006: Greg Beem wins AMRA Road Warrior Tour "Heritage 30"

Xenia, Ohio's Greg Beem proved to be as powerful as his "Xenia Tornado"
nickname in dominating Brushcreek Motorsports Complex's "Heritage 30" for
the AMRA Road Warrior Tour modifieds.
The opening heat winner, Beem blasted off the pole position of the 30 lap
main and was seldom challenged. Dave McWilliams looked to be a contender,
as the Bluegrass state driver moved from 11th to 3rd by working the cushion
around the 'Wicked Fast' 3/8 mile tri-oval, but retired with front
suspension failure before he could mount a challenge for the lead. 2nd
running Dave Defibaugh harassed Beem on the restart, but Beem was too
strong, as the "MUHA Construction/ Pierce Chassis/ #33" was victorious for
the 2nd time in 2006 Road Warrior Tour competition. Dave Defibaugh's "Chris
Polino Contracting/ Hardee's/ Lightning Chassis #77" continues his
mid-season charge to the points lead with his runner-up finish, and Mark
Dickson's "Southern Ohio Powerwash/ Chris Fannin & Son's Trucking/ Hassy
Chassis #0" was third, as the top 3 finishers accepted trophies supplied by
Cincinnatti, Ohio based 'Carthage Auto Parts'.
Defending RWT champ Louie Krushansky was a close 4th, and Tim Roll rounded
out the top 5.
6th though 10th were Teddy Tucker, Darren Dryden, Dave McWilliams, Mike
Gross and Brad White.
Mark Dickson was the 'Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier' with a lap of 16.594
seconds, as he and feature winner Beem recieved $100 certificates from Chris
Dickson of 'Dickson Racing Shocks' for their efforts. Additionally, Dickson
Racing Shocks will award $50 certificates for the qualifying heat race
winners for the remaining 2006 events of the Road Warrior Tour season.

The AMRA Road Warrior Tour will next be in action for a Buckeye state double

July 21, 2006: Rain dampens AMRA Road Warrior Tour "Day's of Thunder 30"

Despite the best efforts of BDS promotions, Ma Nature finally won out in the
battle of wills.
The AMRA Road Warrior's first visit of the '06 season to the West Virginia
Motor Speedway came
to a screeching & soggy halt when the rains came to stay just as the Road
Warrior Tour feature was set to head onto the 5/8 mile oval.
In preliminary action, Clarington, Ohio's Gerald Deitch bested a field
representing 4 states, as his quick lap earned him the "Hassy Chassis Fast
Qualifier" honors.
Greg Schilling out-dueled brother in law Doug Henry to win heat 1.
Pat Gillian, Chris Stotts and Corey Conley were winners in the remaining
qualifying heat races, and Kenny Johnson was the B-main winner.
With the field set for the A-main, the 'Days of Thunder 30' lap feature will
be ran as a part of the September 15th & 16th 'Racefest' weekend at the West
Virginia Motor Speedway.
Already scheduled with the 'AMRA Nationals' on tap, the make-up 'Days of
Thunder 30' will run on Friday evening, with time trials for the 'AMRA
Nationals' also scheduled for the opening night.
The Saturday program will consist of qualifying heat races, C & B mains,
with the 'AMRA Nationals' A-main event.
"After discussing the concerns of AMRA drivers attempting to run the 'Days
of Thunder' feature, and possibly having problems that would keep them from
racing in the 'Nationals' races, BDS Promotions agreed to work with AMRA to
make things as fair as possible for all concerned", AMRA president Larry
Keefer reported. "We can get everyone time trialed for Saturday, then run
our make-up feature Friday night. That way, if anyone in the make-up
feature has problems, they at least have an opportunity to get it fixed for
the next night's AMRA Nationals" Keefer concluded.

'Days of Thunder 30' qualifying race results: (top 4 advance to A)

July 14, 2006: Dave Groves wins AMRA Road Warrior Tour "Muskingum 30"

Dave Grove's put on a clinic in passing, as he won the AMRA Road Warrior
Tour's "Muskingum 30" at Ronnie Moran's 'Muskingum County Speedway'.
The 2 time Road Warrior Tour champion struggled in his qualifying heat, and
found himself buried in 16th starting position for the 30 lap feature.
With his handling ills solved, Groves quickly went to work, dispatching a
car per lap on his march to the front.
Groves would have his work cut out for him, as the 'Hassy Chassis Fast
Qualifier' Dave Defibaugh set a blistering early pace, quickly distancing
himself from the pack.
An early race caution for young David Carter also saw defending RWT champion
Louie Krushansky coast to the infield with a thrown driveshft.
Defibaugh brought the field back to speed, with Jess Hartman, Jeff Staggers,
Rob House and Kenny Johnson in tow, and once again set out to re-establish
his early race dominance.
Groves continued his climb into contention, moving into the top 10 when the
caution for race leader Defibaugh slowed the pace. Defibaugh's lost
driveshaft moved Jess Hartman to the point for the restart, with Don Lewis
and Groves both moving inside the top 5 or the restart.
Hartman's lead proved to be short-lived, as a toasted ring & pinion ended
his run, and put current MCS point leader Staggers at the point, with Groves
parked on his rear bumper.
Groves quickly moved to the lead on the restart, and cruised to the
checkered flag for his 2nd 2006 AMRA RWT win at MCS. The Morgantown, WV's
'T&M Motorsports/ Tri-Valley Equipment & Sales/ GRS Chassis #T3' was
followed to the pay window by Rob House's 'Hassy Chassis #24' and Don
Lewis, whose 'Bent Tree Truck Sales/ Harris Chassis #77L' charged from 14th
to 3rd.
Kenny Johnson was 4th, with Jesse Wisecarver rounding out the top 5.
6th through 10th were Ken Riddle, Mark Dickson, Larry Moran, Kevin Morehouse
and Doug Henry.
Dave Defibaugh 17.805 lap was good for not only the 'Hassy Chassis Fast
Qualifier', but for an additional $50 bonus from track modified sponsor
"Balderson Dodge".
Defibaugh, Krushansky, Wisecarver and Hartman were the qualifying heat
winners, with Tim Roll taking the win in the B-main.
The AMRA Road Warrior Tour will return to MCS on September 9th.

July 3, 2006: Greg Beem wins Brushcreek's 'Firestorm 30' AMRA Road Warrior Tour event

"The Xenia (Oh) Tornado" breezed into the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex,
and when the dust settled, became the 7th different winner of the '06 RWT
season, as he won the 'Firestorm 30'.
3 states were represented in the features front 2 rows, with Doug Adkins
blasting off the outside pole position to lead Dave McWilliams, Dave
Defibaugh, Aaron Higgins and Kenny Johnson through the first 3 laps, before
succumbing to mechanical woes.
The 16 year old Higgins led veteran Johnson to the point, with both soon
bypassing leader McWilliams.
The lead duo set a blistering pace, and soon distanced themselves from the
field. A lap 10 caution for a Chris Ullery saw Johnson fall from
contention. The restart saw Higgins once again speed away from the field,
and Louie Krushansky move from his 7th starting spot to 2nd. McWilliams
attempts to wrestle the spot back resulted in damage that would retire his
mount, and Beem had worked past Defibaugh to gain 3rd.
With 7 laps remaing, Higgins dreams of victory went up in smoke, as motor
problems sent him pitside.
Beem worked his way past Krushansky, then cruised the final laps to bank
$1500.00 in his 3rd career AMRA Road Warrior Tour victory. Krushansky's
runner-up finish tightened the points battle, and Dave Defibaugh's 3rd place
finish provided his 2nd RWT podium finish of the weekend. Brad White
finished 4th, and point leader Mark Dickson rounded out the top 5.
6th through 10th were Darren Dryden, Tim Roll, Greg Anderson, Anthony Huber
and Bruce Gould.
The 'Hassy Chassis fast qualifier' was Higgins, and McWilliams, Adkins and
Defibaugh were the heat winners.
The AMRA Road Warrior Tour will return to the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex
for the August 5th running of the "Heritage 30".

July 1, 2006: Corey Conley wins Tyler County Speedway's 3rd annual 'Dickson Classic'

Tyler County Speedway hosted the 9th stop on the 2006 AMRA modified Road
Warrior Tour with the 3rd annual running of the 'Dickson Classic'.
While the packed house in attendance celebrated the nations birthday with a
spectacular fireworks show, Wellsburg, WV's Corey Conley celebrated his 2nd
Road Warrior Tour win of the season, banking $1500 in the process.
The 30 lap feature was paced by the evenings 'Hassy Chassis fast qualifier'
Kenny Riddle and Dave Defibaugh, with Riddle banzai'ing the first and second
turns to lead the field onto the backstretch. The 3rd starting Conley
followed Riddle with Defibaugh, Mike Wilson and Louie Krushansky following
in tight formation.
Riddle was immediately pressured by Conley, as the lead duo went side by
side for the lead for a pair of laps before Conley took possession on lap 4.
Defibaugh made a pass for 2nd stick on lap 5, and Krushansky and JR Nolan
went past Wilson to challenge Riddle for 3rd.
The battle for 3rd was nothing short of intense, with no less than 5 cars
clustered off Riddle's spoiler at all times, and sentimental favorite Mark
Dickson had the fan's attention with his charge from the rear of the field.
With only 3 single car incidents to slow the action, the leader's blistering
pace made quick work of the 30 lap race and "the Flying Ace" streaked past
the checkered flag to put his Gib Patt owned "Lucas Oil Products/
Performance Off Road/ PBM Engine Products" #707 in Tyler County Speedway's
Allen's Pontiac Victory Lane for the 2nd time in as many attempts.
Dave Defibaugh's "Chris Polino Contracting" sponsored #77 scored his best
run of the '06 RWT with his runner-up finish, and current AMRA National
points leader Riddle turned back all challengers, as his "Allman's
Sweep-a-Lot" #1k scored the final podium finish. Krushansky and Nolan
rounded out the top 5. Wilson, Gerald Deitch, Darren Glover, Dickson and
Doug Henry finshed 6th through 10.
Trophies were presented to the top 3 courtesy of Carthage Auto Parts of

June 16, 2006: Mark Dickson wins AMRA Road Warrior Tour's 'Skyline 30'

Some folks really know how to throw a birthday party.
Mark Dickson celebrated his birthday with cake prior to Skyline Speedway's
'Skyline 30' for the AMRA Road Warrior Tour. He blew out the candles, then
blew away the competition in winning his first RWT race of the 2006 season.
Front row starter's Larry Bond & Louie Krushansky led the 24 car field to
starter Todd Gorrell's green flag, with Bond gaining the early race
advantage. By lap 2, Dickson had worked his way from the 4th starting spot
to the lead, and 3rd starting Mike Long was breathing down his neck in
second.
5 early race cautions kept the field tight, and Larry Bond reclaimed the
runner-up position with Chris Stotts moving from 8th to 3rd. In the span of
2 laps, Krushansky vaulted from 4th to grab the race lead with a lap 13
pass. Krushansky's pass would prove his eventual undoing, as he made
contact with an infield tire, causing left front suspension damage. As
Krushansky manhandled his now ill handling car, 2004 event winner Stotts,
and defending race winner Dickson swapped the runner-up position a pair of
times. Krushansky's valiant effort to hold the lead ended on lap 23, as he
looped his mount in turn 1, handing the point back to Dickson.
The races final 7 lap run saw Stotts give everything he had in an attempt to
wrestle the lead away, but he could come no closer than 2 car lengths, as
Dickson's 'P&N Trucking/ Rauch Cabinets/ Realwood Interiors/ Strahler
Masonary/ Chris Fannin Trucking/ Welsh Electric/ Mike's Auto Body/ Boley
Enterprise/ StuArt Signs/ Hassy Chassis' #0 flashed under the checkered flag
to increase his Road Warrior Tour point lead. Stott's 'Bullitt Chassis'
#s8, and Kenny Riddle's 'Allman's Sweep-a-Lot' #1k were rewarded with top 3
finishes and trophies from Carthage Auto Parts off Cincinnatti, Ohio.
Doug Adkins came from 19th starting position to finish 4th, and Larry Bond
rounded out the top 5. 6th -10th were Dave Defibaugh, Kenny Johnson, Pat
Gillian, Will Rowe and Darrell Reno.
Adkins was the 'Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier' picking up a $100 bonus from
Dave Poske's Performance Parts in the process, with Bond, Krushansky, Long
and Dickson winning the qualifying heat races, and J.C. Casto getting the
win in the B-main.
The Road Warrior Tour will next be in action July 1st at the Tyler County
(WV) Speedway, followed by a July 3rd appearance at the Brushcreek
Motorsports Complex with each event paying $1500 to the winner.

June 9, 2006: Louie Krushansky wins Elkins Speedway's Road Warrior Tour 'Battle in the Valley 30'

Defending Road Warrior Tour champion Louie Krushansky won his second AMRA
Road Warrior Tour event of the '06 season, leading all 30 laps enroute to a
win in the 'Battle in the Valley 30' at the Elkins (WV) Speedway.
Krushansky's evening was flawless, as he was the 'Hassy Chassis Fast
Qualifier', won the opening heat race, then showed the field nothing but the
spoiler of his 'Denzle Turner Excavating/ Bulldog Logging/ Dalton Bros.
Lumber/ GRS Chassis' #23.
The caution filled 30 lap feature saw Krushansky lead the entire event, but
not without challenge, as fellow front row starter Dave Defibaugh
continually looked for an opening below the race leader. While Defibaugh
could only make it to the leaders door, Krushansky consistantly hit his
marks, holding the middle groove. Dave Groves was 3rd and trying the high
line, and by lap five had RWT point leader Mark Dickson as company. These 4
cars broke away from the pack on numerous restarts, with Tom Sigler, Will
Rowe & Kenny Johnson in a spirited 3 car battle for 5th.
Groves worked around Defibaugh near the races midpoint, and immediately
applied pressure for the lead.
With 8 laps to go, Groves near spin caused Defibaugh to spin to avoid
contact, and sent Defibaugh to the end of the field for the final run to the
checkered flag.
The lead trio continued their assualt for position, but Morgantown, WV's
Krushansky was too strong, as he led Grove's 'Tri-Valley Equipment' #T3 and
Dickson's 'P&N Motorsports' #0 to the line.
Chambersburg, Pa's Will Rowe was strong in his first RWT run of the season
finishing 4th and Kenny Johnson rounded out the top 5.
Defibaugh recovered to finish 6th, with Doug Browning, Phil Jeffries, Tim
Roll, and Tom Sigler completing the top 10.
Trophies for the top 3 were supplied by Carthage Auto Parts of Cincinnatti,
Ohio.
Krushansky was the Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier with a lap of 16.74 seconds,
and he along with Defibaugh and Groves won the qualifiers.
The next host for the '06 AMRA Road Warrior Tour will be Stewart, Ohio's
Skyline Speedway for the June 16th running of the 'Skyline 30'.

June 3, 2006: Dave Groves wins AMRA Road Warrior Tour 'Balderson Dodge 30'

Morgantown, WV's Dave Groves added his name to a prestigious list, as he
became the fifth different winner in 6 Road Warrior Tour events in winning
the 2006 version of Muskingum County Speedway's 'Balderson Dodge 30'.
Groves not only bested a steller field of 46 AMRA modifieds, but outran Ma
Natures attempts to rain on everyones parade.
5 heat races, a 'C' and 'B' main were needed to set the 24 car starting
field for annual event.
Jess Hartman, the evenings 'Hassy Chassis fast qualifier' fought off the
charges of fellow front row starter Jeff Staggers to control the early laps.
Groves followed Staggers to run 3rd, with Rob House and Dave Defibaugh
battling for 4th.
By lap 12 Hartman saw the small lead he had developed dissolve, as he had
caught the back of the field and was searching for a route to overtake the
back markers. Groves had worked past Staggers, and the lead trio was 3 wide
in a wild scramble for the lead. A caution for the spinning Chris Stotts,
the first of only 3 in the event, settled the field into a single file
formation, as 2 time event winner Norman Aronhalt now challenged Defibaugh
to crack the top 5.
As the field returned to green, Hartman fought a tight condition, and Groves
seized the moment, grabbing the lead in a pass off turn 4 as the field
completed lap 14.
Groves never looked back, as the '02 & '03 Road Warrior Tour champion
cruised uncontested the final laps, parking the 'T&M Motorsports/ Tri-Valley
Equipment & Sales/ GRS Chassis' # T3 in victory lane.
Hartman's fine run ended when the former leader threw a driveshaft and
coasted to the tracks outside apron, where he viewed the final 2 laps.
Staggers inherited 2nd, and Rob House was 3rd, with Defibaugh turning away
Aronhalt for 4th.
6-10 were Tommy Moore, Sam Lovejoy, Kevin Morehouse, Louie Krushansky and
Daryl Dodd.
The 'Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier' was Jess Hartman with a lap of 17.880.
Hartman, Staggers, House, Groves and Aronhalt were qualifying heat winners.
Cameron Hague was the 'C' main winner, and Tim Penley took top honors in the
'B' main.

Elkins (WV) Speedway for the 'Battle in the Valley 30'.

May 28, 2006: Krushansky nips Johnson in photo finish @ Brush Creek AMRA Road Warrior Tour.

Defending AMRA Road Warrior Tour Champion Louie Krushansky broke into the win column at the Brush Creek Motorsports Complex, winning the AMRA Road Warrior Tour's "Memorial 30".
The start of the 30 lap main saw front row starters Dave McWilliams and Doug Adkins lead a field that represented 5 states to the starters green flag, then struggle side by side for 2 laps before Adkins could wrestle away sole posession of the race lead.
Krushansky, Aaron Higgins and Benny Hickel followed the race leaders in sometimes 3 wide group battle for 3rd.
A spin by McWilliams would move the trio to Adkins bumper for a lap 8 restart, with Dave Defibaugh moving to the top 5.
Higgins brush of the short chute wall would end his run, and move Kenny Johnson into the top 5 for a mid race restart.
With 12 laps remaining, Johnson moved his line to the extreme edge of the self named "Wicked Fast" 3/8 mile, and started a banzai charge to the front. Passing a car every lap, Johnson blasted around the outside of race long leader Adkins in turn 3, as the desperate former leader looped his car bringing out the caution.
The race's climax had the fans on the edge of their seats, as the top 5 positions were all in doubt. Johnson continued his assault around the tracks rim, as Krushansky dove to the tracks bottom line.
As the race leaders came to the final pair of laps, they were side by side. With the checkered flag in sight, everyone in attendance rose to their feet as the lead duo screamed off the 4th turn in a dead heat. Track officials quickly huddled to confirm the finishing order, as Krushansky's "Denzle Turner Excavating/ Dalton Bros. Lumber/ Bulldog Logging/ Hilling Trucking/ GRS Chassis # 23's" margin of victory was less than a yard, in what was his only lead of the 30 lap main. Johnson's spectacular drive yielded a hard earned, but disappointing runner-up finish.
Mike Long quietly charged from 14th to 3rd, Dave Defibaugh was 4th, and current RWT point leader Mark Dickson garnered hard charger honors as he finished 5th after starting 19th.
6th through 10th were Mike Gross, Bruce Gould, Benny Hickel, Darren Dryden and Adkins.
McWilliams was the 'Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier', and he, Kenny Riddle and Adkins were prelim winners.
The AMRA Road Warrior Tour returns to the Brush Creek Motorsports Complex on Monday July 3rd.

Results:
Heat 1: David McWilliams, Louie Krushansky, Benny Hickel, Bradly White, Rick Hensley, Mike Long, Darren Dryden, Mark Dickson

May 27, 2006: Riddle wins AMRA Road Warrior Tour Bluegrass Bash 30 @ Willard, Ky.

Kenny Riddle became the first repeat winner of the 2006 AMRA Road Warrior
Tour season, as the Parkersburg, WV driver was the winner of Willard (Ky)
Speedway's" Bluegrass Bash 30 ".
Local driver Joey Back drove off the outside pole position to take the early
lead in the first ever Bluegrass State appearance for the Road Warrior Tour.
Defending RWT champion Louie Krushansky, Matt Lux, and '94 AMRA champion
Doug Henry followed in the leaders tire tracks, as the recently resurfaced
track's lower groove was treacherous in the early going, and the leaders
chose to ride the cushioned upper groove.
This strategy played into the 9th starting Riddle's hand, as he dove to the
bottom of the quarter mile's turns, beginning his march to the front.
Riddle had no sooner than worked his way to the runner-up position when
leader Back bobbled coming off turn 2. Riddle, Krushansky, Lux, Henry and
Kenny Johnson all freight trained by, before the former leader squeezed back
into line.
A caution for contact between Dave Defibaugh and Jason Perry bunched the
field for a final time with 9 laps remaining. Kenny Johnson was now
charging on the bottom with Mark Dickson and Todd Robinson in tow. Back
fell from the top 10, and soon went pitside, with Lux following suit shortly
afterwards, as the pace and track conditions began to take a toll on the
leaders. Johnson's charge ended after making it as far as 2nd, as he
dropped out with a thrown driveshaft, with Krushansky suffering the same
fate on the final lap.
Riddle's "Allman Sweep-A-Lot/ Poske's/ Fastenal/ Riddler Chassis" #1k
crossed under the checkered flag with a 6 car length advantage over current
RWT point leader Mark Dickson and Doug Henry. Todd Robinson and Doug
Browning rounded out the top 5.
6th through 10th were Jason Perry, Teddy Tucker, David Bodkins, Krushansky
and Johnson.
Krushansky was the "Hassy Chassis Fast Qualifier" as well as the opening
heat winner.
Back and Lux also scored heat race wins.

May 20, 2006: "Lux declared winner of K-C Raceway's 'Eye Opener 30'."
---Kitchen 1st to flag, but light at scales---

Franklin, Pa.'s Matt Lux had never visited Jim Nier's K-C Raceway before
Saturday night. Now he probably can't wait to return to the high banked 3/8
mile. Lux became the 3rd different winner on the 2006 Road Warrior Tour in
as many races, in an event that many in attendance described as "the best
modified race they had ever seen" at the historic Alma, Ohio oval.
Jim Nier's K-C Raceway hosted stop #3 for the 2006 AMRA Road Warrior Tour,
with 51 cars accepting the "Ultimate Challenge". 5 heat races, a "C" and
"B" set the 24 car field for an action packed 30 lap event, that was slowed
only 4 times for single car spins.
Lux jumped of his pole starting position to take the lead, with Dave
Defibaugh and Mark Dickson in tow. The multi-grooved track was perfectly
suited for the passing, and some drivers who started near the tail made
incredible charges towards the front. When the events first caution waved
on lap 10, 17th starting Mike Long had worked his low groove all the way to
8th, and 16th starter Kenny Johnson was searching for room wherever he could
find to crack the top 10.
Bobby Kitchen had moved to 3rd, and was challenging Defibaugh, who was
equally as threatening to leader Lux. Ed Eschmann soon worked into the top
5, and this group was stayed swapped track position during the races
mid-stages. When the races final caution waved on lap 26, the final 4 lap
run to the checkered had fans on the feet, as Lux was hounded first high
then low by Kitchen. With Defibaugh, Long, Johnson, Eschmann and the 20th
starting Rick Aukland rounding out a lead pack that were racing 3 and at
times 4 wide, Lux and Kitchen raced to the white flag literally in a dead
heat. Kitchen drove his car deep into turn 3, and made the apparent winning
pass on the final turn, as he nipped Lux by a car length at the checkered
flag. Long and Johnson completed their runs to the front by getting around
Defibaugh on the final set of turns. As the crowd gathered at the
frontstretch fence to congratulate the winner who had went to post race
inspection, word came from the pits that Kitchen was disqualified for
failing to make weight. Lux's Scott Bidwell owned "Fame RV Center/Maloney
Tool & Mold/ Eddie's Footlongs/ Rich Johnson Electric/ Houck's Carbide"
sponsored #21 Pierce Chassis accepted the $1000 winner's check, as Long and
Johnson were also moved to podium finishes in the final official results, as
the trio accepted trophies for their efforts from Carthage Auto Parts of
Cincinnatti, Oh. Defibaugh and Aukland rounded out the top 5. Finishing
6th through 10th were Eschmann, Dave Groves, Dickson, Aaron Higgins and
Brett Chinn, as all but 4 cars finished the 30 lapper.
Doug Henry was the 'Hassy Chassis quick qualifier', and Lux, Defibaugh,
Dickson, Kitchen and Jamie Adams took qualifying heat honors. Dave
Pinkerton won the C- main, and Kenny Johnson was the B-main winner.
The AMRA Road Warrior Tour will make a southern swing for the Memorial Day
weekend, as the Willard (Ky) Speedway (Saturday, May 20th) and Brushcreek
(Oh) Motorsports Park (Sunday, May 21st) will next host the 2006 version of
"the Ultimate Challenge".

May 6, 2006: Corey Conley wins Tyler County Speedway's AMRA Road Warrior Tour 'Spring
Spectacular 30'

Wellsburg, WV's Corey Conley pocketed $1000.00 with his win in Tyler County
Speedway's 'Spring Spectacular 30', race # 2 for the 2006 AMRA Road Warrior
Tour.
Conley, known by fans locally as "The Flying Ace", jetted off the outside
front row, then held off fellow front row starter Matt Lux to grab the lead
off turn 4 at the end of the first lap. Behind the lead duo, Dave Groves,
Brent Trimble and Mark Dickson fanned out across the fast, high banked 1/4
mile, searching for their own expressway to the lead duo. Dickson moved to
3rd, and he and Lux put on a side by side battle for the runner-up position,
and defending RWT champion Louie Krushansky wrestled 4th from Groves. All
the while Conley stretched his lead, which vanished when the 5th and final
caution of the event came on lap 21.
Conley was not to be denied as his Gib Patt owned "Lucas Oil / Performance
Off Road / PBM" # 707 sped under under the checkered flag 7 car lengths
ahead of Dickson's 'P & N Motorsports' # 0 and Lux's 'Scott Bidwell owned' #
21, as 3 states were represented in the lead trio. Krushansky and Groves
finished 4th and 5th, with JR Nolan, Dave Defibaugh, Doug Henry, Kenny
Johnson and Brent Trimble rounding out the top 10 finishers.
The top 3 finishers received trophies courtesy of Carthage Auto Parts of
Cincinatti, Ohio.
Lux, Conley and Trimble took the qualifying heat race wins, Tim Riley won
the B-main, and Kenny Johnson was the 'Hassy Chassis quick qualifier' with a
lap of 14.25 seconds.
The AMRA Road Warrior will return to Tyler County Speedway July 1st for the
running of the 3rd annual 'Dickson Classic', and AMRA sponsor Dave Poske of
'Dave Poske's Performance Parts' announced that he will add $500.00 to the
purse for the event.
The AMRA Road Warrior Tour's next stop will be Saturday, May 20th at Jim
Nier's K-C Raceway.

May 5, 2006: Kenny Riddle wins Elkins Speedway AMRA Road Warrior Tour opener

Parkersburg, WV's Kenny Riddle was as hot as his "Flying Fireman" nickname
implies, taking the AMRA Road Warrior Tour's 2006 season opening win in the
"Thunder in the Hills 30" at the Elkins (WV) Speedway Friday night.
Riddle blasted off his front row starting position to rimride the tracks
edge, gaining the lead by the end of lap one. As Riddle stretched his
advantage, the racing for positions 2-6 drew the fans attention. 2 time
past RWT champion Dave Groves used his experience of the historical 3/8 mile
to turn back the challenges of defending RWT champ Louie Krushansky, Kenny
Johnson & Dave Defibaugh.
As the race neared the halfway point, the race was slowed by a pair of
single car spins, and erased the 1/2 straightaway lead Riddle had built.
Slowed by only 3 cautions, the final lap 18 restart saw Riddle being chased
by Groves, Krushansky, Johnson & Matt Lux.
From this point forward, the only top 10 spot not being challenged was for
the lead, as Riddle used the battles off his spoiler, and clear race track
out the windshield to his advantage.
Riddle's "Allman Sweep-A-Lot / Fastenal / AGR / Poske's / K-Graphics / R&B
Collectibles / X1R Lubricants" # 1K self built 'Riddler Chassis' held a
final 10 car length advantage over runner-up Dave Groves # T3 and third
place finisher Mark Dickson's # 0. Louie Krushansky was 4th, with JR Nolan
recovering from a first lap flat to finish 5th. 6th through 10th were Dale
Keplinger, Tom Sigler, Doug Henry, Anthony Huber and Dave Defibaugh.
The top 3 finishers received trophies courtesy of Carthage Auto Parts of
Cincinatti, Ohio.
Nolan, Riddle and Krushansky garnered the qualifying heat race wins, with
Groves earning top honors as the 'Hassy Chassis quick qualifier'.
The AMRA Road Warriors will return to the Elkins Speedway June 9th for the
running of the RWT's "Battle in the Valley 30".
